Let's make use of this time in quarantine and start a web novel.
It was a quarter past 5 in the afternoon when Ashley went out to meet her date. This was their first meeting and she was excited to finally see this guy. They talked until dawn, he makes her laugh and he has a way with words. They decided to meet at a family owned restaurant since it is their halfway point.
Crouched down, with her face was covered with her hair, while scrolling through her phone she felt a light tap on her knee. She ignored it at first and thought that it might me an insect but then she felt another tap.
"I've been here for quite a while now," he said.
She sat up. "I am so sorry, I didn't see you there," Ashley blurted mesmerized by his beautiful brown eyes.
He was smiling at her and was obviously happy to meet her. Nathan sat next to her and then she shamelessly embraced him. She felt safe. She has never felt this comfortable in front of a man before. It's was as if she had longed to embrace him.
I could get used to this. He smells like candy and cotton candy clouds.
She stared into his eyes and she saw her future. They talked for quite a while, not minding how long time has passed. He bought food and they ate together. Nathan ordered more rice so that they can both eat more since the food was amazing. After their meal, they talked some more and then decided to go to a nearby park to spend more time.
They walked hand in hand, like they're been together for ages. She stared at him, wondering if it is real and then she felt his grip tighten around her fingers.
"Is there something you want to say babe?" Nathan asked.
"Oh, uhm, nothing. It's just that, I am not used to all of this. And that we aren't even a couple yet but I feel like you've been mine for a while. I was too comfortable—"
Nathan kissed her on the lips and said, "let's make it official then."
Speechless, Ashley didn't know what to say or do. She was surprised about what happened and had no idea how to react.
Seeing her reaction, Nathan held her face and said, "you don't have to be afraid, we won't be able to know the future if we won't try and make this work right?"
He's right, why is he always right?
She felt his sincerity and held his hands, "I will trust you and you are right, we should make this official."
They have been talking for a month now and tonight was the first time that they met face to face. Taking risks isn't one of Ashley's traits but seeing this guy, an actual person who shows and treats her like a princess, makes it worth it.
They walked for a couple of yards along the red bricked path. It was a chilly night but it didn't bother them at all. In the middle of the park, they found an empty bench and sat there. It was nestled underneath a maple tree. He leaned on her shoulder, held her hand and started singing. He has the dreamiest voice she has ever heard.
Sweet creature, sweet creature, when I run out of road, you bring me home. you'll bring me home.
