Should I start a Business while working?

My training for Bell Canada in Sykes will start on Monday (7 October 2013) and I just had an idea. Since I will be working again, I just thought that if open an online shop that I will be able to save more money. It is nearly Christmas season and I need to save money for my godchildren, kids can be very demanding.

For the online shop that I would want to set up, I would want to sell clothes and accessories. Since I am addicted to these items, why not share my addiction to others. I know that every girl wants to have anything that is hip and trendy. I would want to cater to every girls wants and needs. This shop will be for all of the girls out there.

I have tried opening up a shop but it did not succeed and the reasons are, 1. I lack budget. 2. I am not focused on it. 3. I lack advertisement and promotion. 4. Am too shy to promote. 5. I am not yet ready.

After everything that happened from my past shop, I learned that you have to be aggressive enough to promote your shop. Be ready to face the rival shops and make yours stand out. I should also find a trustworthy supplier or a place to buy all your products and supplies. I also learned that you should set goals for your shop. Also learn to love your customers.

I just need help about this; I am having second thoughts about this idea, should I start a business or not?

    I have a shop too but I'm also too shy to promote. It's so necessary but the thought makes me anxious x

    In my opinion, it's better not to open one because there are so many online stores so the competition is really huge. I have an online store myself and I got to say, without promotion/advertising, it's really hard to make sales!

    ohhh this is hard to answer. To be honest, I would say no unless you are commited and have enough time to advertise. There is a lot of competition out there and it is very hard to become big without putting out money first. You could try and get bloggers to review your store to spread the news, but that could be costly. If you are willing to work hard and put time into it though, I say go for it!!!

    I think it is a great to open shop....but not right now...I think you need to have an idea for the shop thats sets you apart in extreme standards!!!! I have say this is a very big market and one that has a ton of already successful brands...so yah hope that helps.....
